summer fun

Life with a toddler is pretty awesome, and pretty exhausting at the same time. Case in point, it's Monday afternoon and I should be at work. Instead, I'm taking a break from cleaning house to blog (and possibly watch some trashy reality tv). I suppose that means my hard-earned vacation hours are being well spent, right? It's OK; sometimes it's really nice to be home alone, getting the nitty-gritty things done that get pushed aside while we're living our lives. YOLO, right? (I just learned that phrase from watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians- don't tell anyone.)

Just because this is cute:

Proudly sporting the kitty-princess shirt. We bought this as a joke ('cause it was so over the top), but she really loves wearing it.

We negotiated with our landlord to stay at our apartment for another year. What a relief it is to not have to move, and we're actually going to be paying a little less than we were this last year, so that's cool. We've really started to enjoy our new neighborhood, too (South Arlington is where it's at!!). We have a pool on-site and a park within a nice walking distance, which provides endless hours of summer fun!

Pool Pirate Face!!

Saying "cheese" in the new bike seat.
This broken car is her favorite thing to play with at the neighborhood park.
Slides are pretty cool, too.
So happy.
Over the weekend, our neighbors invited us to go to the beach outside of Annapolis, MD. We didn't technically go to an ocean beach since it was on the Chesapeake Bay, but given that it was only a 40 minute drive from our house, it was well worth it! We were excited to expose Teagan to a beach again since the last time she went, she was only 3 months old. Unfortunately, she wasn't too stoked about the waves, but she kept busy playing in the sand which gave us some unexpected down time for sunbathing!

On our way to Sandy Point!
Showing off her sand-in-bucket skillz.

Teags wasn't so sure about the loud crashing cold water. She pretty much demanded to be taken out as soon as Sean walked her in. (Note to self: must repeat exposure therapy as often as possible.)

Back in her happy place, playing with her buddy, E.

Teagan's "say cheese" face looks really similar to her look of apprehension.
On our way home from a great day at the Bay!
