Teagan just celebrated her six month birthday. And guess what? That means she's still a baby. We often forget that she is still so young because she truly has been a fairly "easy" baby. She tricks us sometimes into thinking that she is older.
For example, we went out to a restaurant the other night to celebrate Sean taking the bar exam this week. We decided to go right after work, at 5PM, so that Teags would be awake and occupied until her bedtime at 7PM. While she was completely happy on our walk to dinner, once we arrived, she had a complete meltdown. Turns out, she didn't have an adequate afternoon nap and was completely exhausted by the time I picked her up from the nanny's. Naively, prior to leaving our apartment, Sean and I had a conversation about how we didn't need to bring, 1) a carrier or car seat (because she can sit up now and will be able to use the restaurant's highchair), 2) a pacifier (because it's not bedtime and she only uses it to sleep), and 3) a bottle, just in case (because it's totally not time for her to eat). Read: our baby is awesome and can handle going out to eat like an adult.
Needless to say, we could have used all of those items that we neglected to bring (the restaurant's highchair was way too big), but thankfully, after about 20 minutes of fussing, little Teags finally fell asleep on my shoulder, sans pacifier! Good thing the restaurant was empty, save a couple of happy hour drinkers and another family with a baby. Moving forward we've committed to always leaving the house prepared- oh yeah, and to not let our precious gal grow up too fast.
Here are some pics from the month of July. Hope you enjoy!
